Serving as a team member is a wonderful form of agape love. However, this role also entails acceptance of many responsibilities, one of which is paying the teaming fee of $190. Your team fee will be due no later than three weeks before the Walk. If you are unable to fund your cost for the weekend, you are still needed and welcome to serve. Full or partial scholarships may be available; however, each community member is encouraged to limit his or her request to one scholarship request per year (June-June). Because scholarships come from the Emmaus general fund, scholarship money is available in limited amounts. Therefore, please help us plan and be prepared for covering the costs for this Walk and those to come, by doing the following:

 First, complete the Financial Commitment form (attached) and return it to the Weekend Lay Director at the first team meeting. If there is any possibility that you will need a partial or full scholarship, please indicate that on the form. If your situation changes that eliminates or creates a need for a scholarship, please let us know at your earliest opportunity.

 Second, if you think you will need a scholarship, please prayerfully consider systematically setting aside a small sum of money each month, until you’ve saved the total of $190, so that you can pay your team fee three weeks before the Walk.

 Third, after receiving a scholarship, please prayerfully consider repaying the fee, as you become able. This will provide continuing scholarship funds to meet future needs of the community.

 Finally, if you are more than able to meet the full cost of your own teaming fee, please consider contributing funds to assist a fellow team member who may need a scholarship. All scholarships and financial assistance requests are kept confidential, so you may discuss these matters with the Weekend Lay Director at any time.
